WEST PALM BEACH, FL – June 11, 2014 – On Saturday, June 21, 2014, join the City of West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), along with Help Palm Beach County and The Mosaic Group for the 1st Ever Gospel Music & Arts Fest at Blum Park. The event will feature local choirs, praise teams, community performances and will feature hometown Gospel Music Recording Artists Helen Miller, Lanorris McFadden, and more. In addition, there will be arts and crafts vendors, food and fun for the entire family.
The event is the newest feature event by the West Palm Beach CRA aimed at engaging the community and bringing awareness to all the upcoming projects and developments in the Northwest Community and Pleasant City areas. The vision of the Gospel Music and Arts Fest arose from Reverend David Chandler, Pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church and CEO of Help Palm Beach County who saw the need for an event that would unite families and celebrate the community. According to CRA Executive Director Jon Ward, the CRA needed to find a way to better communicate with the local community, and felt an event with a Gospel focus would help with this initiative. “The CRA strategically invested in this event to collaborate with the local community. We understand how important the relationship is between the Churches and residents and we felt this was the best asset we have in continuing to build our relationships here in the Northwest Community and Pleasant City.”
Event admission is free and open to the public. Church choirs and praise teams are invited to participate on a first come bases as slots are limited. Food and arts and crafts vendors are also invited. Vendor space is free. For information artists and vendor applications, contact Genia Baker at [email protected] or 561-822-1554.
